Stage 1 – Activating the Yeast
25-30 grams fresh yeast.
1 tablespoon sugar.
3/4 cup room-temperature milk.
1 jar Strawberry 100% Fruit No Cane Sugar of Natural Products Beit Yitzhak.
Mix all the ingredients and let rest 15 minutes until the yeast rises.
Stage 2 – The Dough
50 grams butter.
2 tablespoons sugar.
2 tablespoons brandy.
450 grams flour.
Stage 3 – Preparing the Doughnuts
Mix all the ingredients together with the yeast mixture, after it has risen, and knead until the dough is soft and smooth.
If the dough is sticky, gradually add a little flour.
Sprinkle a bit of flour on the dough and cover with a towel until the dough rises (the dough should double in size). This should take about an hour.
Roll the dough on a flat surface so until it is 2 cm thick, and then cut circles with a glass and roll then into balls.
Place the balls of dough on a floured towel and let rest for additional rising, about 30 minutes.
Deep-fry the balls of dough in oil until golden brown on both sides. Remove and place on paper towels.
Stage 4 – Serving
Top with Strawberry 100% Fruit No Cane Sugar from Natural Products Beit Yitzhak, or inject with a syringe. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm.
