The almond tree comes from the rose family, and it is abundant in the north of Israel. The almond tree does not grow to be very high, but its roots go very deep. This gives it the ability to grow in places with little rainfall. The almond is mentioned in the bible due to the “determination and tenacity” of its early bloom. In Israel, the almond tree has become the symbol of the coming of spring, as it starts to bear its flowers in February.

Honey – Some of the most popular kinds of honey are made from citrus and wild flowers, with eucalyptus and avocado honey quickly making their presence felt among consumers. The type of honey depends on the location of the bee colony. The first historical mention of honey was discovered in prehistoric cave paintings, and it was used as an ancient medical remedy, in cosmetics, and of course in food.
